STAUNTON Imelda - for programme

Imelda Staunton is a BAFTA winning and Academy Award nominated actress. Her film credits include Pride, Maleficent, Another Year, Shakespeare in Love, The Harry Potter series, The Awakening, Freedom Writers and Vera Drake, for which she won the BAFTA award for Best Actress. Her extensive television work includes That Day We Sang, Psychoville, Cranford Chronicles, David Copperfield, Cambridge Spies, Fingersmith and a BAFTA and Emmy nominated performance in The Girl. Imelda has also received critical acclaim for her theatre work, with credits including Momma Rose in Gypsy, Good People, Guys and Dolls, A Chorus of Disapproval, and Mrs Lovett inSweeney Todd, a role that secured her an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Imelda has additionally been recognised by The Evening Standard Awards, Golden Globe Awards and the British Independent Film Awards.
