Mike Gamble is a highly respected games industry veteran who has dedicated most of his career to helping developers achieve creative excellence. As European Territory Manager for Epic Games he is responsible for championing Epic’s Unreal Engine technology, widely recognized as the most powerful real-time engine on the market today.
Recently Mike has masterminded a number of initiatives that have helped raise the profile of the Unreal Engine as well as the games industry in general. One example is the twelve-month competition ‘The Big Data VR Challenge’, run in collaboration with Wellcome Trust, which explored how game developers can help solve real world issues by using game development techniques.
Over the past four years Mike has actively supported the Epic Games Centre at Staffordshire University, providing equipment and expertise as well as lecturing on a regular basis. He was recognised as a visiting professor in 2014 and in July of 2016 was made an Honorary Doctor of Arts of the University of Staffordshire.
Mike’s career takes in the likes of the MOD, Tonka, Hasbro, Sega, Epic, Microsoft, MathEngine, THQ and Instinct and he is credited on numerous titles, his favourite probably being Broken Sword 3.
